I figured I'd share a quick story with you guys and gals about a prank someone pulled off the other day at the station. We have this new ladder truck, and it literally cost ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!!
We also have a new Chief's Car, a brand new Dodge Charger. The ladder driver was backing into the bay, and his backer didn't do the most effective job of helping him out. The driver didn't need it, but since his backer didn't stay behind him the whole time, he left himself open. After the driver got the ladder parked, we distracted him, and someone moved the Chief's new car so that it was parked <>under<> the bucket of the truck. It only had about 3 inches of clearance from hitting the hood, and he pulled up until it almost hit the windshield of the car. Then we called the ladder driver over to show him his 'handiwork'. The poor guy was floored, thinking that he had only missed disaster by mere inches. We had a good laugh and then let him in on it.
I know it's hard to describe it without pictures, but I wasn't able to find any good ones, so you'll just have to settle for those at the top. I'm having some computer problems at work, so this blog is laid out a little funny. Sorry!!. Enjoy!
