I try to make it a point to blog before I go to bed at work, but lately my schedule has been all messed up and I haven't been doing it. I worked at the fire department for 48 of the last 72 hours, and I will be working there again for 48 of the next 72 hours! It all starts running together after a while, but since we can't take vacations, this is the only way to get a day off (I work for someone and then they will work for me on one of my regular days).
I am glad to see that Uncle Mike is trying to blog more, that is always a good thing. I also want to give you guys Tom's blog address so you can add it to your reader:

I am glad to hear that everyone seems to be getting the hang of this new one. Grandpop, I know you are still having trouble getting the reader program to function, I will try to call you sometime this weekend and see if we can get this resolved. It sounds like Tom has found another option to the reader program, so maybe that will give us some flexibility.
Other than working so much lately there isn't much going on. We are in the process of trying to find a new car for April. We got the bad news that her transmission will need to be replaced, and rather than pour more money into it we are going to get rid of it. We owe more than the car is worth right now, but the cost to fix the transmission is the same as what we lose for it not running properly, so there is no real reason to fix it. The guy at the repair shop said that more likely than not in the process of putting in a new transmission, they would find other things that needed to be fixed and the cost would go up even more. I'll let April blog later on what she is looking for in a car, but we've pretty much decided to get her a new one this go round rather than deal with another used car.
The other problem is that while I love my truck, it only gets about 16 MPG if I am lucky. If gas prices continue the way they are, it may be a better bet to sell it to get something new and see how long I can limp her car back and forth to work (the transmission does fine cruising along, it is getting it moving that is a problem). We still aren't quite sure what the best bet is.
Tom, we had discussed me getting a motorcycle to get to and from work as well, but with no garage I wouldn't have anywhere to park it. Apparently firefighters think alike, as several of the guys at my department are either going that route or trying to talk their spouse into letting them do it. I wonder how much of it is just the time of year? The one guy in our department who lives in the city actually rides his bicycle to work. I kinda envy that, he is fortunate to live in his first due district, I don't think that happens too much anymore.
Sorry I haven't been leaving comments on everyone's blogs of late, but I will try to be more active in the feedback department. I know I always like to hear everyone's reactions to my blogs! Take care and talk to you soon.

Good to hear from you! Sorry you've been working so much, but it sounds like it'll pay off in the long run! Love ya! :)
Work never hurt anyone, but it does get confusing when your schedule gets messed up.
As mike said, I'll be gone for the next 2 weeks. I'll let you know when I'm back. I did get onto that reader thingee but haven't had a chance to see if it works.
Love
Sounds like all the Towhey boys need to get together for a ride!! Uncle Bill, Uncle Tom and I can get with your Dad and have a ball!
I hope everyone has my new BLOG address, I haven't had any responses yet.
All else is well...
Chris, You are right about firefighters thinking alike... Here's what I think: It's very hard to tell a guy who does crazy stuff on a semi-regular basis that it's dangerous to get a motorcycle!
By the way... I cannot find your Mom's new blog site... would you give me her address?
Thanks,
ME
