do do do do. Here comes the sun, alright. Sorry, I'll stop now.
Anyhow, I missed another blog yesterday but I'll make up for it real quick. We did some water rescue training yesterday, and I got roasted by the sun out there. I thought we were only going to be out for an hour, and we were going at 10 am, so I didn't bother with any sunblock. BIG mistake! We were out there from 10am -1pm and I got cooked! I wound up going to get some aloe and spray on lidocaine at Publix last night. I was able to coat most of my back in the aloe and sleep with a fan blowing on me, so I was actually pretty comfy. That is, until we got up at 2:30 am for a mulch fire and realized that the aloe had dried and stuck to the sheets! That was fun, but no biggie. I'm hoping to have some pics from the training for a future blog. They didn't get them posted yesterday before I went to bed.
My engineer has an interesting theory on why you feel sick to your stomach when you get too much sun. I'm not sure if I buy it or not but it makes at least a little sense if you think about it; he says it is due to the radiation sickness (afterall, the suns rays are a form of radiation). Ponder that next time you go to the tanning bed or decide to lay out!
On to better news, I had another appointment with the eye doctor today to follow up on my PRK. Last time they were a bit concerned that I may need a touch up procedure on my right eye, since it was not quite where they wanted it to be. They prescribed me some eye drops and sent me on my way. Today when I went in I had some better news; I am now officially 20/15 in my left eye, 20/15 when viewing things with both eyes, and 20/20 in my right eye! I was ecstatic to hear it. They are going to keep me on my eye drops but they have released me until my yearly checkup next March. Katie, do I get a woo-hoo?

I got caught out in the sun two weeks ago and ended up peeling pieces off my forehead the size of a dollar bill!!! (Not worth that much to anyone but me)
We tend to not tan in our family, so be careful.
Glad your eye surgery went well. I am still pretty happy with mine, but age is creeping in and I will soon need reading glasses. No big deal since I am not trying to impress the girls (LOL)
Keep training; Hope to see you sson when ou visit Atlanta...
Sorry about the sunburn. We all know what a PAIN that can be. Mama says "Wear your sunscreen" next time, even if you think it'll only be an hour!! Glad the PRK is doing so well. Talk to you soon. Love ya!!
Sunburns are NO fun!! We were out at the lake on Saturday for about an hour and I was pink when we got home. I'm glad we weren't there any longer. Good luck as the burn progresses!! Congrats on the good news about your eyes... Or should I say WOO-HOO!?!?! Love ya! :)
Good news on your eyes. I am glad everything is working out for you in that area.
Sun burns are sooooo painful. Keep that sun screen handy.
Love ya, Aunt Sue
